Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Mikaella Inc. (“Mikaella”, “we”, “us”) makes Lalo the Leopard, an educational game for children aged 3–7, and operates mikaella.net. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. We designed Lalo for kids, so we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the app.
Information we collect
We do not ask children for personal information. Lalo does not require a child’s real name, email address, phone number, photo or location, and it contains no advertising.
When the app is used, limited technical information may be processed:
- Child profiles. Parents can create a profile for each child (for example, a nickname and avatar) so progress is saved separately. A nickname does not need to be a real name.
- Identifiers. An app or device identifier may be used to keep game progress and subscriptions working across sessions.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data help us find and fix bugs. This data is not used for advertising.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your payment card details. We only receive confirmation of whether a subscription is active.
When you contact us by email or through our website form, we receive the information you choose to send (such as your name, email address and message) and use it only to reply.
How we use information
We use the information above only to provide and improve Lalo the Leopard: to save game progress, keep subscriptions active, fix crashes, and answer support requests. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for behavioral advertising.
Sharing
We do not share personal information with third parties, except:
- with service providers that help us run the app (for example, hosting or crash reporting), under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing that service;
- with Apple or Google as needed to process subscriptions; or
- when required by law.
Children’s privacy
Lalo is directed to children, and we follow applicable children’s privacy laws, including the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU/UK GDPR. Parent-facing areas such as purchases and outbound links are protected by a parental gate. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. You can request deletion of data associated with your use of the app at any time by emailing info@mikaella.net. Deleting the app removes locally stored game data from the device.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit what we hold in the first place.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your information, or to object to its processing. Parents can exercise these rights on behalf of their children. Contact us and we will respond within the time required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
